QUESTION: WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF MYSTERY SHOPPING?


ANSWER:

Mystery Shopping (MS) also known as Secret Shopping, Shadow Shopping and one or two other names, is a viable and legitimate way for businesses to check and evaluate the quality of the services they offer and the responsiveness and professionalism of their staff.

It is a very productive tool for businesses as it helps by showing them which areas of their business need improvement. They can then implement the changes needed by providing training courses or introducing a reward system for staff to give them the extra knowledge required or offer an incentive for improved or constant high performance levels. It may simply be a matter of a need for more trained staff to improve response times to customer enquiries or it may be something more complex.

Whatever course of action needs to be implemented is determined by the constructive feedback the companies receive from their valued team of Mystery Shoppers. It is a repetitive process which companies undertake for the continued improvement of their services and products, and by constantly evaluating their business they are able to offer trained and knowledgable staff and good to exceptional Customer Service which is imperative for any company to create sales and stay in business.

QUESTION: DO I NEED A RECEIPT?

ANSWER:

If your assignment requires you to make a purchase then you will more than likely be required to obtain a receipt.

If you do an assignment that requires a receipt for reimbursement purposes, always make a point to ask for the receipt if one is not offered as you will not be reimbursed for your purchase unless you provide a receipt, and always scan the receipt to keep for your own records just in case something happens to the one you had to post or submit electronically...
